Three bright young minds have come on board for this year’s Terrestrial Natural History of The Bahamas summer internship. Joining us are Latesha Gibson, Hydie Knowles and Jenny Morris. All three women hail from New Providence and are pursuing tertiary education at institutions in the Bahamas, Jamaica and Canada. Hydie (University of The Bahamas) is majoring in small island sustainability and marine science, Jenny (Thompson Rivers University) is pursuing a degree in natural resource science and Latesha (University of the West Indies) recently fulfilled degree requirements in plant biology.
The next eight weeks will see the students immersed in field research and training in botany, ornithology, herpetology and geology with experts in the respective fields. The trio will travel to New York in June for one week to work with the Natural Areas Conservancy. Welcome aboard, interns!
